My daughter, Hailey, was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma at the age of 9 on Jan. ll, 1999. Hailey experienced the normal hair loss, and then regained a beautiful head of hair. However, during her high school years, her hair started thinning. We went to doctors, but no one could figure out why. We have tried many things to help her Hailey is now 23 yrs old, in her last year of college and just got engaged. I would love for her to be able to put her hair up in a beautiful style for her wedding or even just in a pony tail without her scalp showing. Any ideas?

Comment by Jodi yesterday My son Jon is in remission from acute myeloid leukemia. His hair came in really thin after chemo. He is now in middle school & is self concious about it. Did anyone ever respond to your blog with ideas?

Comment by Elizabeth Allen on January 10, 2013 at 7:41pm Hello Lisa! I am a medulloblastoma survivor, diagnosed in 2004 at age 11; I am now a junior in college. My hair doesn't seem to have thinned since it grew back in (although it grew back thinner than it was before treatment). I do still have the bald patches where the radiation was directed, but I grew my hair somewhat long, and it covers the patches. I hope you can figure out something for your daughter! Congratulations to her, and best wishes for the future!

Comment by Lisa Tennyson Rago on January 6, 2013 at 9:23pm Thanks, Hillary, but tried the hairpieces. Her hair is thin all over (and of course no hair around the back near the neck - radiation result) and her hair could not hold the pieces that the hair dresser put in. She uses pony tail hair and is getting a wig ( expensive) but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get her hair to stop falling out.
